With congress in gridlock and congressional approval ratings at a historical low, CEO Bart Myers founded Countable to provide something he felt was missing in the world: an accessible way to understand and engage with what was happening in the government. Countable.us is both.
2014, Feature in The New York Times
Countable was showcased in a piece about political apps by The New York Times and garnered subsequent features on MSNBC, The Today Show, Wired, Politico and the iTunes App Store.
2016, "Impact Today" Launches
Prior to merging with Countable, this extension of Impact news site Causes.com launched with fanfare, reaching 113,000+ subscribers today.
2017, Countable Grows
In the wake of the 2016 presidential election in the United States, Countable experiences exponential growth, its mobile app topping more than 200,000 downloads.
2019, Countable Acquires Brigade, Causes
Countable acquires civic-engagement platform Brigade, and with it Causes, the first application on Facebook. Co-founded Sean Parker, Causes remains a vibrant community and is the third most followed page on Facebook.
2020, Democratic National Convention
In August 2020, Countable powered the virtual Democratic National Convention, garnering thousands of voter videos and powering the discussion online in the midst of the Covid pandemic.
2020, Launch of Countable.com
With the combination becomes a separation of roles, with Countable becoming a community engagement platform and digital toolset for the enterprise, and Causes.com the home for civically-minded communities to learn and engage with each other.
